The Chief Khalsa Diwan was established in 1902 and now registered as Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society under the Society Registration Act 1860 promoted by a group of well known Industrialists, Businessmen, Professionals and Philanthropists with an aim to promote quality education in the field of Technology. The Primary purpose of the society is to provide and impart education at all levels of the society. The history of the Chief Khlasa Diwan goes back a century which itself is a record and landmark in the field of education. Since its inception, It is gaining momentum year by year with the opening of new academic institutions in all over the state. The society is achieving the heights towards its mission under the consistent and positive direction of President S. Charanjit Singh chadha a renowned businessman and the other office bearer of the society namely Dr. Santokh Singh, S. Nirmal Singh and S. Santokh Singh set him who are the stalwarts of their own respective field. As the mission of the Society is charity and uplifting the humanity, the promoting body is imparting direct education by way of opening schools especially in the society is now running Forty Two schools, Two Adarsh Schools under its control. From Charity and Social Welfare part, it is also running Old Age Homes, Hospitals and Central Khalsa Orphanage to serve the society. To add the other milestone in its growth, the society has expanded its mission to the next level for imparting the professional and technical education to the society for overcoming the various problems faced by youth like unemployment, lack of specialized skill etc. Similarly, as other Academic Institutes, CKD Institute of Management and Technology is established with the aim to achieve a position of leadership among technical and management Institutes in providing meaningful, relevant and character building education, providing equal opportunities to every section irrespective of race, ethnic group and gender. “Sarbat Da Bhala” which means “Welfare of All” as envisioned by the Sikh Guru Sahiban shall act as a guiding force for this institute.
